When I reflect on why I’m grateful, I get a different perspective. It’s normal to often get frustrated with others. But we should appreciate the fact that we have people in our life who bring us joy.
It Brings You Close To Others
When you take the time to be grateful for what you have, you often want to express it to others around you. We shouldn’t dismiss the things that people do for us. That little thank you means much. It can make someone’s day. Gratitude draws people together.
It keeps Us Grounded in The Present Moment
When you practice gratitude, it forces you to take a look at the good things occurring in your life right now. Every time we turn on the news, you can find a story that causes you to question your faith in humanity. But if you try to be grateful for the blessings, you find less things to worry about.
I’m grateful for God, for having a mother, father, siblings that care for me. I’m grateful for the friendships that enable me to enjoy and appreciate my life. I’m grateful to be able to live in a place where I can wake up with a roof over my head, electricity, water and freedom of speech. I’m grateful for self-expression. I’m grateful for books. I’m grateful to be able to wake up, to be well, to revel in this day.
