4 Ways to Create a Happier Life

Happiness is what I look to create and embrace more of in my life. But it is not an easy goal. Life throws us into situations and events that we do not expect or want. However, I don’t think we should give up on happiness. I believe that as long as we are fortunate to wake up and have life, then we have to make the most of it. Below, are a few ways that I want to make my life better and happier this year.

Make Time for The Things You Love Doing

We each have our own hobbies and ways of relaxation but we don’t always make time for it. We get wrapped up in the busyness of our days and work that we don’t go after our joy.

I’ve learned that making time to do the things I love doing energizes and gives me meaning and happiness. So I exercise, read, write, watch movies, go to art galleries and be out in nature more. I am indeed a nature lover: 3 Amazing Benefits of Being in Nature.

I think you should consider some of the things you like doing and put it into action. Don’t wait around for some magical moment. Don’t wait around and depend on others. Your life should not be on hold for someone else. Make time for your joy because happiness is your responsibility.

Be Open to Change

I wrote a post before on How to Create Change. So, I’ll tell you the ways that being open to change has made my life better.

Being open to change enables me to step out and explore my surroundings. It enables me to meet new people. Last year, I had some interesting experiences. I went out with the kind of person that I wouldn’t usually expect and it was fun.

Being open to change led me to make friendships and divine connections with people who help me to build this blog.

Change is constantly around us but if you fold your hands and roll your eyes, you will not have the life you’re seeking. The energy you’re giving has to be open and positive to be receptive to change which is needed because it leads to your joy.

Move More

I’m ready to discuss exercise again. You know I’m a fan of running and for those who are hesitant, you can check out my post for 5 Reasons Why Running Changes Your Life. It will make you happy to move more. Find the exercise that works for you. Maybe you like dancing, cycling, yoga, swimming or just walking. Do some form of exercise. I make time to run because the benefits are worth me waking up for.

Try New Things

You must have heard the popular quote from Albert Einstein that “insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result.” If what you’ve been doing in your life hasn’t been bringing you much joy, then I suggest you try mixing things up. Think about it this way, what do you have to lose in trying something new if you’re not content right now?

A new thing I want to try is taking a cooking class. I already have the brochure and know the prices so come February, I will be doing that. I want to do that because I’ve always wanted to try taking a cooking class. I think it could be fun.

Also, for new things, I want to explore more places in Abuja.
