We are officially in a new year and decade. I’ve been thinking about more of what I want for this year. My goals are not too different from what I wanted last year. I want significant change and improvement in my career, side-hustle and better financial management. Here are some of my goals for 2020.
Collaborate With More Bloggers & Influencers
This year, I would like to do more blogger collaborations. I want to do more collaborations for my blog and my video interview series with creatives. There are so many topics that I would like to interview others on. My target is at least 6 collaborations for this year.
Feature My Work In Other Sites & Get Paid For It
Last year, I was proud of myself for being able to extend my writing beyond my blog. I got truly vulnerable with you all about topics that are not easy for me to write about. My writing can be seen on “Yahoo Lifestyle News,” “The Mighty” and “She Leads Africa.” This year, I would like to extend my writing to other outlets. In addition to also getting more paid writing opportunities. As much as I love creating content, I would also like to be compensated for sharing my work on other platforms. A girl needs to eat after all.
Create More Content on Women Empowerment
You all know how much I care about women empowerment. I’m a Feminist whether you like it or not. I want to create more empowering content for women and girls. Last year, I did a video discussing bleaching in Nigeria and what makes a woman truly beautiful. I had so much fun shooting the video because the responses were so beautiful. I want to create more content for women to make them know that they are worthy, they are valued and they are truly seen exactly as we are. I see you girl.
Upgrade My Blogging Equipment
At some point this year, I would like to have a good camera, tripod and vlogging equipment. I have a good phone which is fine but at some point, I need a good camera. I plan to upgrade my blogging equipment this year.
Manage Finances Effectively
This year, I would like to be able to better manage my finances. I admit that I like nice things. Who doesn’t like to treat themselves? However, I want to manage my finances better. That way, I do save more and possibly learn about investing.
Explore More Of Abuja Life
Honestly, one of the reasons why I revived my blog when I came back to Nigeria was because I wanted to show a different narrative to outsiders. I know that I haven’t done much of that. I interview Nigerians, sure. I go out and eat at restaurants, sure. I network a lot, sure. But that is not enough. I should do more to show you what life is like in Abuja. I want to show the angle that is not typically seen in the international media. In order for me to do that, I have to put my books down and actually explore more.
Those are some of the goals that I have for this year. What are some of the goals that you have for the year?
