10 Insightful Lessons from Oprah’s Book

I read “What I Know for Sure,” by Oprah Winfrey. I loved each chapter and I want to share my favorite lessons with you. Oprah’s words have always fueled my spirit. I first started to admire her from watching her TV Show “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Each episode had a moving message. She consistently brought prominent issues to light. She interviewed people that discussed topics on everything about life. Her show left you informed, intrigued and inspired.

I saw and continue to see Oprah as the epitome of what I aspire to do in media. I would love to use media, journalism as a way to impact others as she has impacted my life. Oprah Winfrey is that woman that I look up to and find comfort in her words. I hope her words will also provide you with some encouragement and wisdom on your path.

My favorite quote from the book is “You can either waltz boldly onto the stage of life and live the way you know your spirit is nudging you to, or you can sit quietly by the wall, receding into the shadows of self-doubt.” This quote helps me understand that we each have a choice in our life. We can choose to step out and go after our dreams and ambitions. You can seek to find your calling or you can let your fears of failure or feelings of not being good enough cripple you into not moving forward.

How to Shake Off Thoughts Of Not Being Good Enough
